"What do you mean by 'Nika'?" Sabo further asked. Luffy groggily opened his eyes, and spoke, "Did someone call me?" Garp frowned at that.

"Luffy, your name is Luffy, not that!!!" He said with anger. Luffy who sat up now glared at Garp before frowning, "But why do I need to hide my real name?!!!" He asked and crossed his arms on his chest. "I don't understand at all!!"

"Your real name is Nika?" Ace asked to which Luffy nodded happily. Garp scratched his head in worry.

"Fine!" Garp said, "Listen to me!" Luffy looked at Garp and the others even did the same. "If the marines ever come to know about your real name, and if by any chance the World Government came to know about your existence they will kill you in spot."

"Why will they kill coz of my name?" Luffy frowned but soon burst out laughing, "And do you think," Luffy's eyes flickered to golden, "they can kill me?" Luffy started laughing hard, his one hand on his stomach and the other on his eyes.

"After you're done with your business on this island. Would you like to maybe- join our crew? For real this time," he gently smiles. "I don't think I will be done before you leave-" you look away, not bearing to look into his piercing eyes anymore. "I can wait!" he interrupts, letting go of your hand as quickly as he took it. "I mean uhh... me and the crew... we can wait for you," he stutters out. "This island seems pretty cool. I wouldn't mind staying here for a few more days." You softly chuckle. "We'll see," you give him a faint smile, your eyes blank. "I mean, who else is supposed to save you when you're halfway beaten to death?" Hearing his halfhearted laugh sent a striking pain through your chest. You swallow hard to keep a sob from escaping your throat as you realize this might be the last time you ever hear it. Tears roll down your cheeks, blurring your vision as you lock eyes with the deep dark eyes you've been dreaming about for the past months. His hand gently cups your face and the familiar warmth tingles your skin as his thumb carefully wipes the tears on your cheek. Without breaking your gaze he leans in closer to whisper. "I don't want to be saved by anybody else, y/n." Ace x fem reader Started September 10th 2024 disclaimers! I do not own the cover art. The Son We Didn't Raise

1 part Complete Mature

Canon Universe Divergent. Crocodile reunites with Dragon as he has some questions! Now I was properly angry, "You did not raise him?" I turned my gaze to the Dragon. "Who was the adult that raised him?" "Vice-Admiral Garp." The brunette answered. "Sabo here almost met with death at the hands of a Celestial Dragon and lost his memories, he regained them only recently. Luffy, Ace and Sabo were all put in the care of mountain bandits, who were under Vice Admiral Garp's protection. You can guess the environment they grew up in." Every new piece of information that I gained was infuriating me. Mountain Bandits, of all the people to leave children with. Why did I think a pirate ship would be an unsafe place for a child? Anywhere in this world could become unsafe for a child, all we needed were human scum. "Thank you, I appreciate you cutting to the chase. So, your father, Garp, raised the boy? Or did he treat the mountain bandits as a day-care service" I tapped on the bounty poster. "How did he get this devil fruit?" "I don't know." Without breaking an expression, Dragon replied. "I learned it two years back, I think he procured it at an early age." "You don't know?"
