There are two main types of interviews conducted during IAS selection - preliminary interview and final interview.

Pre-interview: The pre-interview is also called "screening" or "self-testing". It is done by a panel of experts to assess the general character, qualifications and mental health of the candidate. The first interview usually lasts 30-40 minutes, and a panel of judges examines the candidate's communication skills, quick thinking, decision making, general knowledge and qualifications for the job.

Final Interview:
The final interview is also known as a "board interview" or a "personal test". It is done by a panel of experts to assess the general character, qualifications and mental health of the candidate. The final interview usually lasts 30-45 minutes, and a panel of judges evaluates the candidate's communication skills, mental health, decision making, general knowledge, and suitability for the job.
The main purpose of the final interview is to test the candidate's management, social and communication skills, leadership and problem-solving skills. The panel may also ask questions about the candidate's education and past work experience, current situation and vision for the future.

It is important to note that both the preliminary interview and the final interview are important stages of the IAS selection process and candidates should be prepared to be good at both interviews.
Candidates must respond confidently, openly and honestly while demonstrating their knowledge, skills and passion for the job.
