Elijah had thought that she had died during the 14th century when Mikael discovered them after Katherine had become a vampire, he had thought that she had died years ago. After searching for her for nearly his entire vampire life he had given up hope of ever finding her ever again after her brief appearance in Chicago. This story will somewhat follow the Vampire Diaries story line.
