If you have read At the Twilight of Mankind, you have already met Nina Xi Huang. Mother of two, Senator in the government of her country, she was over sixty-years-old. She lived in a future most unimaginable in our time. At the beginning of this very short story, Nina is only a young child. As a prisoner in an artificial intelligence concentration camp in the United States Nina is growing up in the most austere environment with the only living member of her family. Nourished by the love and wisdom of her grandmother, Nina will learn to develop extraordinary agility, intelligence and a strength of character that will inspire many before the liberation by the African troops. Dedicated to the human soul and its ability to free itself from all oppression sooner or later, always. Important note: I usually write my stories like scripts. Therefore, cuts appear in the midst of the action to build up on suspense. For readers accustomed to very long texts like in paper books, this format may seem odd. Alexandra Dalton lives in a crumbling post-apocalyptic wasteland ruled by The Enforcement and terrorized by the Legacies, power-wielding humans corrupted by their abilities. But when a deadly encounter thrusts her into the heart of a war for humanity's survival, secrets of her father's past begin to surface, forcing her to choose: fight for the light or be consumed by the darkness. In a world where entire cities can burn in minutes, and nobody can truly be trusted, can she protect her mother and sister-and uncover the truth before it's too late? Excerpt: "Dad?" My voice was no more than a whisper. The tendril caught the woman just as she was about to hit the ground, and in one harsh movement, it tugged her into the darkness. The blackness engulfed her screams, swallowing them completely. I could feel my father pulling on my wrist. His grip was so tight it hurt. Everywhere around me, people were dying. Their shrieks echoed in my ears, and I couldn't seem to move. My hands started to shake as I looked toward the dark sky. The silhouettes of bodies in the air, lit eerily by the theme park's neon colors, littered the sky like stars. This wasn't just chaos-it was the end of everything we knew. Chapters released weekly!
