Natsu has a recurring nightmare of Gray dying at the hands of Zeref because he isn't strong enough to protect him. Natsu pushes himself hard than he ever has to become stronger to protect the one he loves. He starts to become sick as he forces himself to become stronger. 

When he finally begins to overcome this sense of weakness the two lovers are faced with the unexpected.
