The histories of these two important families in the Warcraft universe, highlighting their triumphs and tragedies, and ultimately their connection to the Potter family.
The Windrunner and Menethil families. The passage details the Windrunner family's tragic past, which includes the deaths of several family members at the hands of the orcs during the Second War and their subsequent struggles against the Scourge invasion. Despite these challenges, the Windrunners persevered and established themselves as the Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter in England.

The passage also briefly describes the Menethil family's reign over Lordaeron and their kindness towards the Wrynns during the Second War. However, their legacy was tragically cut short when King Terenas Menethil II was murdered by his own son, Prince Arthas, at the start of the Third War. The last Menethil heiress married into the Potter family, who were formerly known as the Windrunners.
