This is a newly edited version of my first short science-fiction story. This work focuses on 9th grader Sierra Watts, and her life-changing discovery. Studying the ocean for so many years comes in handy when the whole world is put at risk from a global scale rising of the tides. Will Sierra be able to convince people to get to safety before its too late?

"Who are you?" I asked him but instead of answering my question he suddenly grabs my hand and pulls me for a run. I don't know where he will bring me but to my surprised, I let him. We run away from something I don't know. I just know that there is something that was pulling me through a deep unknown darkness. But he was there and now we are running away. I don't know who he is yet I trusted him with all my life. For that instant, I knew my heart belongs to him. *** *** "I didn't mean to love you yet I love you so much I cannot hold you so tight." I said those words and I couldn't stop myself not to feel the bitterness of the truth we are going to face. But still I hold her hand even though I know that it isn't right. We run and I save her. Yet, I don't know it was the beginning and I don't want to find out the ending. Still, the end is near and I cannot hold her even though my heart already belongs to her.
Stealth Journeys with the Steam Mapper
A 2019 Wattys entry deeply into climate change, global warming, and environmental destruction, especially the nuclear kind! A lot of true facts are embedded in this story which has both true and fictional characters. Who is to be believed is for you to decide. The chapters are many but many are short. Still, it is a full-sized novel with promise for future adventures. Plot: An international crew of scientists board a large state-of -the art oceanographic vessel privately funded by an anonymous source. The itinerary is to travel down the west coast of the Americas and travel the South Pacific to Antarctica. The team plans to visit many known sites of hydrothermal vents using a device called the MAPR, searching vents for a bacterium that seems promising in use as a way to fight carbon dioxide emissions. But one of the two junior scientists on the team soon realizes that secrets are being kept, and makes promises to keep some, while learning that some onboard have entirely different agendas. To complicate matters, this junior scientist's desire for a special friendship grows in intensity, just as mysterious murmurings and strange sightings intensify. And then, the ship experiences a sequence of events that will draw world attention and leave all of us with more questions than answers. "If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water." This is a story about an under water city called Undersea. It is not a particularly magical place this city, in the way we might expect an under water city to be (with mermaids, talking fish, and so forth) but is instead an everyday sort of place that we might be used to. Except that it is under water. In this story we meet an everyday sort of girl named Sarah, watch her grow, and witness the choices she must make. For in reality this is a story about how certain thoughts and ideas will come to certain conclusions, horrendous as they might be in the end. But here we are getting quite ahead of ourselves.
