A hilltop, covered in grass. A lake, the still water like a mirror. Trees that were so tall they appeared to touch the sky. The leaves rustled, but there was no breeze. The gray clouds hovered above, but there was no rain. And a man sat against the lone tree on the grassy hilltop, his head bent as though silently praying. He is trapped there, forced to relive his own death every day, until he remembers.

This is a short story that I had rewritten and entered into the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards - and I am proud to say that it won an award! I hope you enjoy it :)
