Basil Blackthorn has been learning witchcraft since she was small.
She enjoys most of her time with her mother or by herself, in the woods, minding her own business. They live together in a small cottage, isolated away from the rest of the village. But the forest can be a dangerous place.
She's always been an outcast, in multiple ways– just like the rest of her disappearing family.
Basil has had her share of dark secrets, that's for certain. Her father disappeared, and he has been gone since she was little. She's witnessed the life being practically sucked out of a mysterious boy in the woods.

She's been used to this for as long as she can remember, but soon, everything will change, when people she thought were gone come knocking at her door.

The solitude never felt so good.
