It was Marcie's 6th birthday, July 8th. Marcie's mother, Abigail, believed that a doll would be a prefect gift for her daughter considering she had a collection when she was younger. Little did Abigail know, that dolls weren't the same anymore... Marcie was so excited because it has her 1st doll, it had long black hair, and what looked like an old fashioned wedding dress. The doll was like an antique so, Marcie wanted to name it something special. After a few hours, she had came up with the perfect name, Ophelia. Abigail had no idea where she got that name from, but she loved it anyways. Everything was going well with the doll until two weeks passed, then that's when things started to happen. It all started when Abigail lost her favorite earrings, she asked Marcie where she hid them because they're the only ones in the house. Her response was the weirdest one, she said "Mommy, it was Ophelia, not me." Abigail was shocked to hear her daughter lie, because she was such a good kid so she didn't understand her behavior. Marcie explained how Ophelia had hid them, but she won't tell her where it is. Abigail didn't believe her of course so she said, "Marcie, why are you lying? Just tell me the truth so this can be over with." "I'm not lying Mommy, Ophelia took them, i know they're your favorite so why would i do that Mommy?" "I don't know Marcie, but you need to stop making such silly lies." "Mommy i didn't, Ophelia did, and she won't tell me where she put it because she said if she does, then i will tell you and she will kill me." Abigail had never heard such things come from her, so she sent her to her room, and put the doll in a cabinet. The next, day they heard screaming and crying, it sounded like a little girl screaming "Help Me!", the mother and daughter were frightened and worried. None of this ever happened to them before she locked Ophelia in the cabinet. Then Abigail said, "Could it be?" ...
Remi has always loved the forest, the different sounds, smells, the way she could get lost in it and never have to go home to her non-existent parents. She goes in and out of her life with her best friend everyday just waiting until they're both old enough to leave their small boring town. But one day Remi is attacked, and nearly killed, by a man in the forest. When she wakes up everything's different. She feels something inside her, a power, but she has no idea what happened to her. All she remembers is the man's strange yellow eyes. When three new boys show up at her school, one with yellow eyes, asking her question she gets nervous. And then one night while heading to go get her friend she's taken and thrown into a world she didn't know existed.

"Remi?" Jen says suddenly.
"Hmm?" I hum back.
"Do you ever wish you could just live in the forest? Away from everyone and everything?" She looks at me. "Free." We stare at each other for a long time. I see the real meaning in Jen's eyes. Her worries for going home to her overly strict parents. Her fears for the future and the unknown in general.
"If we lived in the forest we wouldn't have gummy bears any more." I comment to lighten the mood. She doesn't find it funny.
"I'm serious Remi! What if we did run away?"
"Jen, we can't just run away. I know your parents are strict but I truly think they just want what's best for you." She says nothing. For a moment I fear she's mad at me but then she puts her head on my shoulder and I know we're okay.
