'The Veiled Light Of Jerusalem' | King Baldwin by ikaeishot
10 parts Ongoing
In the twilight of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem, a fragile peace rests upon sacred sands - and upon the shoulders of a dying king. King Baldwin IV, the Leper King, rules behind a mask of silver and restraint. His body betrays him more with each passing day, yet his spirit endures - proud, lonely, and weighed by the crown's cruel duty. From the distant isle of Aegea arrives Princess Zahara, a healer of divine repute and a woman bound to him by political promise. Rumor calls her an angel sent from heaven, her touch said to cure even the incurable - yet beneath her veil lies a secret: she is albino, her eyes carrying the crimson hue that superstition brands as cursed. What begins as an arranged alliance for the sake of kingdoms slowly blossoms into something neither expected - a quiet love born from pain, faith, and the mercy of understanding. In Zahara's presence, Baldwin rediscovers what it means to be seen without pity, while she learns that love can grow even beneath a crown of sorrow. But as politics stir and enemies close in - as the court whispers of a foreign bride with eyes like blood - both king and princess must decide if love is enough to heal a kingdom drowning in sin and sand. ---- THIS STORY IS INSPIRED BY THE MOVIE "Kingdom of Heaven" I DO NOT WISH TO STEAL OFF OF ANYONE, AND IF ANY REFERENCE SEEMS FAMILIAR TO ANOTHER- KNOW IT IS NOT INTENDED BUT MERELY ONLY A COINCIDENCE. This story however has its own timeline, as some parts will not follow the original which is the movie "Kingdom of Heaven" .. 🥇#baldwin 11/13/25
Heaven Can't Wait ۞ Baldwin IV by leperqueen
23 parts Ongoing Mature
Al-Andalus 1183. Lluna Valentia bint Al Mualim De Bosch is a Spanish/Moorish noble, fruit of an interfaith union that hoped to unite two conflicting faiths of the Iberian Peninsula. However, hope is a dream and the reality is that the family's influence, wealth, and titles are in danger with the constant friction between the Almohad Caliphate and the Christians wishing to retake their Iberian land. At nineteen, Valentia is the only remaining daughter to be wed and their only hope to salvage their social standing. At the other side of the Mediterranean, the terminally young King of Jerusalem fears for the future of his kingdom and his struggle to provide a successor that will lead in example. In a last act of hope, or desperation, word is sent out that the King looks for a betrothed. Many countries receive the news, but few people are eager to answer. Yet in Al Andalus, it means a seizable opportunity for a certain family. It is no doubt a convenient solution for both sides. But the convenience is flawed, complicated. Because of the King's illness, it remains to be seen whether there is a point to it all. And, after all, nobody asked what Lady Valentia thought about the whole situation. Can this unwilling bride give her life and love away to a leper? And what is that which makes her the only one who could? Something far more sinister than a disease lurks ahead. Factions and alliances will either cooperate or sow discord. With such chaos, even the most unlikely of alliances may not be out of reach for this Kingdom. //the mature tag does NOT indicate smǔt, it indicates violence, blood, and heavy topics (and perhaps mildly spicy scenes (but no smǔt)) More disclaimers and warnings inside King Baldwin IV x OC || This is a long-fic and slow-burn so that's why the pace is so "slow" ALSO AVAILABLE ON AO3‼️
