The Senator and her Mercenary. (Padmé Amidala X Mercenary male reader)

Senator Amidala was a Republic Senator from the planet of Naboo. Having served in the Republic Senate and as Queen of Naboo, and being able to preserve peace throughout the Galaxy had marked her a successful politician and a high valued target for assassination.

The Jedi Order and the Senate know the immediate threat to Padmé's life after the former Queen of Naboo and her escort was attacked in a bomb explosion after landing on Coruscant. But rather than have Jedi or Naboo Bodyguards, Jedi Master's Mace Windu, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi hired a Mercenary Bodyguard.

The Mercenary in question was Y/N L/N, a skilled bounty hunter and Mercenary armored in Beskar armor in the attire of the Mandalorians. The reason the Jedi chose Y/N over their other options, other than because the Senator requested him specifically, was because of his skills, as is fitting for one of if not the best bounty hunter in the Galaxy, and because this force sensitive bounty hunter had been on the Republic's payroll before.

While some of the Jedi were suspicious about Y/N being Padmé's bodyguard, the Senator was more than happy to accept having Y/N as her bodyguard. Padmé didn't simply accept Y/N as her bodyguard because she was desperate to stay alive, but because she had strong feelings for the Mercenary.

Y/N didn't seem to return the feelings, but that was merely because he had no clue about Padmé's feelings for him. But with the coming of the Clone Wars, that all seemed to be ready to change.
