"Anastasia, I have an announcement to make." Mother beams.

From the way she declared it, one would have been smart to run. To turn on their heels and sprint away. The notion never struck me because, like a blathering idiot, I awaited this announcement.

"I have decided that, in the upcoming marriage season, you will join the respectable and beautiful women of the ton in search of an eligible bachelor. It is a great idea, is it not?" she queries.

"Oh absolutely. What's next on the agenda? Do you plan to hang me by my knickers in Hyde Park?" I ask.

"Be as pessimistic as you please, Anne. But this is happening and by the time fall blesses us, you will be married and I will be closer to having a royal heir."

Princess Anastasia, the youngest child of Queen Charlotte and King George the third. For almost one and ten years, there has been an absurd amount of pressure on her to marry and produce a royal heir.

As of late, the pressure has increased tenfold due to the unexpected death of her niece, Princess Charlotte. Seeing as she was the only legitimate heir to the throne, Queen Charlotte has been trying to marry all of her children off.
