Avery Morgan Langley is lost. Not literally, but mentally. With rising school bills and still no insight on her mother's illness, Avery is lost for a solution to her many problems. After leaving campus one night she has an unfortunate run-in with Oberon, King of the Fairies, smoking a joint on a park bench. He gives Avery an offer; complete a series of seven tasks, each one involving the retrieval of some item, and in return he will give her answers to any question she asks. One answer for each item. Although Avery is inclined to say no, a bizarre incident forces her to reconsider. As she goes through the completion of each task, Avery learns more about this king who has been banished from his homeland. With each item she brings back and each unfulfilling answer, Avery begins to question who exactly she is helping. And as she learns more of his past, she is faced with a choice; continue to look for her own answers, or figure out what Oberon's true intentions are?
