Rusty, a young kittypet tom, wanders into the forest, curiosity filling him to the brim. His friend Smudge had always told him ominous stories of the cats that live in the forest, but of course those could never be true! Smudge is just paranoid, right?
But soon, Rusty learns of the clans with the help of a strange, lean tabby tom, whom guides him with contempt, disgusted by his house-cat heritage. Rusty is confident in himself to prove himself to this cat, but is he on the right path?
