Carolina goes home to her family ranch in Texas for the summer from college. She is expecting a fairly peaceful summer minus her daily arguments with her Ma. Her summer starts to unravel when her boyfriend, Cope, picks up rodeoing. Carolina used to spend every weekend roping at rodeos but hasn't stepped foot near a rodeo ever since what happened last summer. At the first rodeo of the summer Carolina runs into an "old friend," Lukas. The run-in causes Carolina's flashbacks from last summer to begin again and starts to draw her closer to Lukas, but not without Cope noticing. The summer ends up taking a devastating turn and is far from anything Carolina could have predicted; filled with confusion, sorrow, desperation, and reconciliation. Leaving Carolina with hard decisions to make, no matter the answer will leave someone disappointed. TW: Themes of sexual assault and suicide are mentioned.
