Everyone's heard the stories about dragons.

However, as time has passed people are believing them less and less, and even the fabled 'wardens' of the dragons, the Eridans, are diminishing in numbers.  It appears that the age of fearing dragons is over when abnormal numbers of strange beasts begin to appear around a small town that lies on the border between Maatia and Kerus.  Soon, it becomes clear that something is wrong.

Qifrey, a young Eridan, makes it his task to stop this new evil in its tracks, despite the fact he has no connections to his Eridanish heritage and no real clue what is actually happening.  Along the way he meets new people and together they are united by both their uncertainty and their determination to discover and defeat the evil looming over their homes.
