Now, when you see fog, you run.
But it doesn't matter how fast or long you run.
The Fog will always catch up to you and even if by some miracle you survive the fog, the beasts in it will tear you apart.

Zombies were said to be impossible, that they'd never happen, well obviously whoever said that had underestimated human curiosity. It started with the melting of the Poles, which uncovered diseases that hadn't been seen in millennia. Obviously, when a flesh-eating parasitical virus was found, scientists in all their glory decided to study it, which led to the greatest calamity in human history. Warning: This is the original book 1, it is now considered more of a prelude/building character relationships arc than a book. This provides backstory and sets the foundation for the characters and their relationships. We all were hiding in random places, apparently any place we could find. There were a ton of zombies, the whole place was full of them. Many people from our group were lost to the virus. Muffled voices, blurred vision and heavy breathes were heard. The ship which everyone had longed for soon arrived. The plan was to run to the ship and never look back.
