In the small town of Shadow Grove, the sounds of his own uncertainty surround seventeen-year-old Maximus as he grapples with his identity. He is plagued with unrelenting episodes of sleep paralysis, his nights full of the sight of a dark creature looming over him. He realizes soon enough that an evil being is after him, trying to strip away the magical essence in his tears. Despite his fear, he finds himself determined to discover the truth and seek a new beginning. When he stumbles upon a portal to the mysterious realm of Findara, a wave of dread washes over him as he is chosen to save it from the Elven King, Malgorog, and his dark and chaotic rule. Maximus sets off on an adventure with his friends, discovering a beautiful fantasy world and making new allies along the way. The boy is burdened with the daunting task of bringing an end to Shadow, but will he be able to succeed? Will Maximus be able to fight the darkness that engulfs him? Or will it take control of his every thought and action?
