If there's a perfect world, with people who understand and sympathize with each other, Dew Coletyn wants to live in it. In her own, she can only go so far pretending that everyone has the right motives, or reasons, or incentives. 

She's not even sure if she's doing a good job of it, but she can certainly try.

Though everyone saw her as a weak helpless princess that needs to be protected, and hidden from the cruel world she desperately wants to see with her blue eyes. A witch shows up one late after noon and offers her magic mirror, that can show her the outside world from just looking into it. She only needs to imagine the place she wants to see and will be there. The princess though was being a jerk so the witch cursed the mirror. Making it so that the princess ever looked into it, she will become a fearsome dragon. "The princess will no longer be a princess and she will see the world she desperately wants to see. Her soft skin will turn scaled. Her silk like hair will disappear and be replaced with sharp horns. She will be the monster outside as that she is inside." Whispered the witch.

The only question is; How is he supposed to save a world he knows nothing about?

She want to help her people but she need ally's along the way. Her name is calliope, she's is a ordinary girl wanting her life to be interesting. Along the way with her friends she finds a human man trying to kill all myths. She is determined to save her people. Now this is my first book/novel I ever made I know it's not perfect but I will keep trying to develop my writing skills in the mean time I hope you enjoy this story I wrote. When I wrote this almost ten years ago I set out to write something I'd never read before. Some of the things I've read since have made me realize just how hard that goal will be to attain.

In an attempt to remember the time he was alive Dew reads his own diary. Dew is a simple servant, working in the kitchen of the king of a relatively small kingdom somewhere in the north. Having changed from a barely human water creature into a young boy five years ago he had found it difficult to fit into the new social environment. Now he thinks he figured out the way things go, working on daily basis, taking part in some events and living with his best friend Avery, who works as a knight. His life drastically begins to change though after poison attacks are launched towards the old king and now he is blamed for it. Additionally Avery breaks down, revealing dark secrets he had kept for years. Suddenly the simplicity of his former life is destroyed and every day could mean the end of him. This is a fantasy story taking place in medieval times. There are elements of dark romance to be found. This story includes descriptions of death, gore and mutilation as well as a little bit of drug abuse. The story takes place in a medieval setting, so themes such as sexism, execution, arranged marriages, implied incest and war can be found. Characters go through phases with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. There are vague recounts of voluntary intercourse but implied rape as well. One consensual scene is written out but there will be a warning. "Diary of the Dead" is part of a three part series. This is the first book. I'm currently working on the second/ third (depending on the order one wants to read it). The chapters are comparably short and the language is easy because I'm German and English is my second language.

Good and evil are not so easily told apart, not everyone is to be trusted, friends can die and a happy ending is all but guaranteed. Will Velvet be able to find her place in such a world? Can she become the hero she admired in her storybooks and pass on her knowledge of magic to others as she always wanted? Or will the cruel reality shatter her illusion and bring the girl to her knees?
