Growing up is hard if you're nineteen and raised in an extreme religious cult. On an island. Without television or the Internet. When Emma Oates starts college on the Mainland, contact with the outside world causes her faith to waver. And she lapses.
All might have been well if she hadn't been discovered. And outed in front of the entire congregation.   
She is deemed to be Possessed and given a choice: Redemption through Exorcism or be cast out. She chooses the first.   
Unfortunately for Emma, her Exorcist is the Reverend Thaddeus Morrow, a man whose long-buried depravities sprout anew with Emma at his Divinely ordained command.
