A family lost and a son alone. A boy's life at its end and beginning. An adventure filled with fantastical terrors, where a child becomes a monster, and a monster becomes a legend.

***

These were the ominous words the ghost Marmy Jo spoke when foretelling Josiah's future:

"Got a world of pain comin' your way, boy-and fast! But, if you make it, you'll come out a stronger beast than many."

When a wolf attack leaves Josiah mortally wounded, his sister Credence is forced to abandon him to find help. Where she went, he cannot say, for the last thing he remembers is hearing his heart stop.

Josiah, the boy who died, wakes to find the world much changed.
Deep within, a horror howls, threatening to tear from his bones at any moment.
With his sister gone, Josiah is alone for the first time in his life, and must learn how to survive in the dark, dark woods.

But how can an eight-year-old defend against devious spiders, cruel kings, and bloodthirsty titans?

And how long can Josiah refuse the call of darkness before he's pulled down a path of chaos and blood?

THIS BOOK IS COMPLETED but it will be HEAVILY EDITED and have things added to it in the future. I wrote this book when I was much younger. I didn't expect it to reach this amount of popularity so I will devote my time to bettering it in the future. ------------------ Every year, in our village and the neighbouring villages, we encounter, on what is suppose to be the most divine and celebrated day of the year, a visit from the 'big bad wolf'. At least that's what the children call him. Adults like to call him "inhuman" or a "wild ravenous monster". However, the majority settle for "beast". No one knows why he ruins this specific day for us, the day we can celebrate our species: werewolves. Some despise him for taking this day from us and forcefully exchanging our merry and joyful laughs to screams of fear. When that specific day of the year approaches us, none of us are ever prepared for it. He always comes at night. We are told to lock our windows, draw our curtains and our doors. We are told to hide. There's one main rule that we have: don't look at him. Because if you do, no one knows what'll happen to you. Maybe that's the worse part, not knowing your fate. Not knowing the outcome of your foolish actions. If he comes roaming your streets, you have a right to be scared. Us "maidens" are always encouraged to hide ourselves the most, it's women that he supposedly wants more. However, I believe that that is a cautionary excuse. He'll take you, no matter how old or how young, no matter how innocent or how corrupt, no matter your gender, all it takes is a look. Either he looks at you, or you look at him, or you both exchange looks. Either way, his senses will pick you up, and you can't hide. It'll be too late. The amazing cover is by @-blackrogue. "Just know this: This book is not like other paranormal books you know. It's better. It's different and it's full of myths and characters you want to see again and again." - Glückskind from 3 Degrees of Fiction Book Blog, 5-star Review Romasanta finds himself a cursed man and struggles with his internal demon, literally. All his troubles start with a stone and after that he will be losing everything he's ever loved. Faced with clinging on to what little humanity he has, he will lose it many times before reaching the end of his journey. His life's tale will take you through time to see how every lore, every moment in history tied in with wolves all come back to him. They call him the Ancient One, others simply refer to him as the Father of Werewolves, but we know him by his name, Romasanta. Many battles will be fought before he gets closer to his goals, but will he be ready to finish what was asked of him at the very beginning of his horrible fate. Will he be able to return the Eye of Gaea and free the love of his life from the laurel tree in the Black Forest? "Everyone has a past, and I fell in love with his." - Tiffany Young at TiDa Publishing "Willis weaves a brilliant web of paranormal histories into the story, sharing some old favorites..." - Arielle Haughee at Orange Blossom Publishing "The emotional impact is a nonstop experience..." - Ross Ellison, Author of 'End of Utopia: Character Anthology

"You know it won't go to the West," he said dropping his voice. "Maybe you're wrong. Who knows," she shrugged. Her shoulders had slumped but she had managed to not let any tears spill. "Baum knew what he was doing when he made the West wicked, Mary," he hissed. "The East was wicked in that book too, dumbass," Mary retorted. Jacob's hands went into fists to keep from pushing at his hair. The tree behind them began to shake slightly. The ground gave a tiny rumble. *************************************************** Mary's father recently passed. But she is finding out it might not have been from natural causes... Family adversaries threaten everything while influential other worldly authorities pull the strings. Mary will have to work with an unlikely ally from her childhood to navigate their new found powers and reclaim balance. Meanwhile... one dark soul is climbing the ladder of chaos. Feel free to leave a message. I love comments! As the story progresses you might notice some subtle (and not so subtle) parallels to the Wizard of Oz. As I always advise my students- give it three chapters before setting it aside. Thanks for reading and enjoy! ☺️ This book is in a perpetual state of needing editing. I hope to return to the chapters to add some details. I'm hoping for a sequel as time allows. Oh, the life a middle school teacher... MORE TIME, I NEED MORE TIME. ‼️‼️Warning: Mild Language Please be advised.
