Limbo was boring. And lonely. No one there, just you. Everyone's limbo is different. For someone it could be a train platform, or a forest, maybe a void. One thing they all have in common is that you're normally alone, no escape.
Wilburs limbo was in fact a train platform. There was no way out for him. He could scratch, and bang on the walls, yell and scream till his voice was hoarse. There was no way out.
