Annika Brooks has had a rough life full of mysteries, and a dead-beat father whose addiction to gambling outweighs his responsibility for his children. When her father borrows money from the mob of New York City and doesn't fulfill his end of the bargain, their Boss offers a trade that he cannot resist: all debt forgiven for his daughter, Annika. Annika is gambled into a life of crime, forced to wed the Godfrey's eldest son, Cassimir, to help forgive her father's debt.
