Being popular is the dream of almost every high school girl, but is being popular really worth changing for?

* * *

“It’s your lucky day! I need a girl to participate in an experiment for my social studies assignment. You get to be around me and my crowd for a few weeks, and like, to see how someone like you, unknown and like... not popular,” Oliver paused to smirk at his friends. “is gonna act around us. I’m writing about the social hierarchy in high schools... so yeah, you’re up for it?”

It took all of my willpower to not just laugh and walk out. Instead I tried to smile at him and I said with as much sarcasm as I possibly could: “Though it sounds so exciting and it’s such a tempting offer, I think I’m gonna have to pass.” By the look on their faces they were completely oblivious to the amount of sarcasm that I had put into my reply.
