Like a River Page Two: Raging Rapids
24 parts Ongoing Set around two weeks after page one, now queen of Lupresia (Lou-Pre-Zha), River Lucrece must handle the complexities of ruling a nation and navigate the situations she runs into. Her childhood friend, Stacy "Stace" Baker, after having previously had a falling out with River for a brief time, is now royal advisor, and having been her Lady-in-Waiting before that. Elias Homings, having killed the usurper and prince of Avantasia (A-Van-Tah-See-Uh), Haden Holstein in the first chapter, is now held as a hero by many.
As news reaches Avantasia's queen, Queen Isabella, about the death of her beloved and only child, heir to her throne, she does not believe what's being said about why he was killed and thinks Lupresia is covering up that they assassinated him, declaring war. So not only is River new to ruling, but must do so during wartime, with all of the stress that it entails. Meanwhile, anger grows at home as there is a plot to kill River and seize the Lupresian throne and place a self-proclaimed son of the king before last upon it.
(NOTICE!!! This is a sequel! If you wish to understand the background to certain references better, read the one titled "Like a River Page One." It's a screenplay while this one's a novel, but... Hush! It's a much quicker read than this one is as a result, so it shouldn't take too long.)
