Mermaids have been dismissed as mere myth, legend, and fantasy for centuries. Nevertheless, it's important to note that such tales are often rooted in truth.

According to legend, merfolk originated from a gem that fell from the crown of God and into the ocean. This story was considered a myth until the discovery of the gem.

The sea gave birth to six clans at the beginning of time - Mermaids, Sirens, Selkies, Merrows, Ceasgs, and deep-sea mermaids. Initially, there was peace and harmony between men and merfolk. However, the hearts of men became corrupted by greed and the desire for power, causing the mermaids to react in ways that led to hatred among all six clans. The High Queen Kalypso brokered a deal between the merfolk and humans, mandating that merfolk live in separate parts of the ocean and sea and only venture onto land when necessary. Each clan fell to their own devices, some finding solace in their new lives, others turning to dark deeds.

Reina is a young mermaid from Colombia belonging to a clan in Lake Guatavita, or the City of Gold. They are warriors and ocean protectors who are committed to identifying and neutralizing threats against merfolk and those who violate the laws established by Kalypso. Feeling uncertain and lacking confidence, Reina seeks to discover her place in the world.

Taking on a new and challenging task could be the solution. Reina is charged with retrieving a stolen artifact from the Lost City of Atlantis, which was taken by a Triton named Zale - the male counterpart of Sirens who are known for their brutality, attacking humans at sea and disregarding the laws established by Kalypso. During her expedition, she meets Morgan, a resentful merman seeking the same man.

Despite their reluctance, they are compelled to collaborate, leading to a startling discovery that questions their loyalty to High Queen Kalypso. This revelation may either strengthen their bond with their clans and each other or drive them apart.
