The Last of Us: Part III (OC)
14 parts Complete MatureEver since the Cordyceps fungus spread across humanity, life has never been the same. The lethal infection nearly wiped out modern society, leaving behind only a few survivors - as if they were the last of us.
Martial Law was declared across all states. With it came a surge in crime: theft, murder, sexual violence, and brutality skyrocketed. The law no longer exists. The state is just as weak as the outlaws it once pursued.
Militias rose. Splintered military groups roam the land, trying to survive. Among them, the most notorious is the Fireflies - a group clinging to the belief they can find a cure.
Relentlessly hunted, the Fireflies never gave up. They settled across several states, one being Utah - a stronghold of scientists, armed guards, and civilians trying to live normally.
Things were going well in Utah until hunter militias raided the area for supplies, leaving the Fireflies weakened and devastated, especially after a brutal massacre in the scientific center at St. Mary's Hospital, where brilliant doctors and researchers once worked.
Bennett is one of the few survivors of the Fireflies who witnessed that slaughter firsthand. He saw friends and allies die in horrific ways - many at the hands of a single man.
Now traumatized and disillusioned, Bennett finds himself questioning everything he once believed in. As chaos reigns, he begins to lose all hope in humanity, wondering if the world can ever go back to what it was.
