Mortuum Et Vivum (Short Story)

Excerpt-

"Summer blearily blinked her eyes, wondering where she was and why it was so cold. When her eyes finally cleared, Summer was met with the sight of the night sky, except it wasn't like the one she was used to seeing. In the city where she lived, the light pollution blocked out all but a handful of stars, but this sky was dotted with so many stars it felt as if she was looking at one of those fancy photos taken by satellites. It was so mesmerizing that she almost missed the sound of a twig snapping, despite the fact it was entirely silent."

This is a story I wrote for an English assignment and honestly, I thought it was a huge waste of my time to write this only for my teacher to be the only one to read it so I decided to post it here.

Please keep in mind that this is a work originally meant for school, and because of that, some plot points might feel rushed or awkward. So, I apologize for that but I probably wont be editing this anytime soon.
