Y/n had met Nanami and Yu Haibara in a study cafe when they were all in high school. The trio quickly got along and hung out often despite not attending the same school.
Haibara had always gushed to Nanami about his feelings for Y/n, and although he felt the same towards the pretty h/c girl, he decided to keep his feelings for her dormant.
A few hours before Haibara and Nanami went on a mission, he had expressed to the blonde how he was going to confess to Y/n that morning before sadly losing his life.
Since that day, Nanami decided two things; One, he decided he wouldn't return to Jujitsu High to become a sorcerer, and two; he would never try to pursuit any type of romantic love interests with Y/n, out of respect for his late friend.
