After many months of traveling during the beginning of the outbreak, Harper Lennon is separated from her fraternal twin sister Enid. She's left alone in a world of danger and fear until she finds a fellow lone-survivor named Sophia and takes her under her wing, eventually reuniting with the girls group and being taken in.

As time goes on, Harper finds herself as a surrogate second child for Sophia's mother as well. She grows close to the leaders son, slowly developing feeling for the stubborn boy. Their group stick together as they face vigorous enemies and problems, Harper becomes a strong-willed survivor and tries to leave the way of JSS thinking behind her.

During adulthood, Harper's one and only goal is to protect and stick close to the family she's forged, and seems to be doing so. Though they say the calm is often before the storm...
