When Ocean was 16, she had a best friend named Constance. She was the nicest person Ocean had ever met. Ocean loved baking cookies With her, and how Constance Would always help her With french homework, because unlike all other schoolwork, she was horrible at it. She loved going on picnics with her, and how Constance Would always bring a little extra bread that they could throw to the ducks when they were done eating. She loved having sleepovers With her, and how they'd have musical marathons, and how Constance would always sing along loudly to all the songs she liked, and Ocean would always listen, because she loved the sound of her voice. After some time she realized, she didnt just love all those things about her. She loved her. But her parents didnt. They found out, and all of a sudden they decided they should move to a bigger city, so she could have "more opportunity". Not even 3 days after these news, they were already in Toronto. She never saw Constance again. Until now. Sitting in math class, talking to a girl she'd never seen before. What could she possibly say?"

Being in love with your best friend isn't the ideal life situation but for Zora, it's her only life situation. Secretly harboring her feelings for her best friend, Sierra, Zora pours her emotions into her journal in the form of poetry. After years of keeping her attraction for her friend at bay and trying to deny her feelings by forcing herself to love a boy who unconditionally loves her, Zora's favorite emotional outlet becomes the cause of her life falling apart as the truth finally comes out. ***** It was happening again. It was dark, sunset, I waited for her to be done with volleyball practice 'because she was my ride'. Somehow we wandered from the gym to the football field and we were sitting at the very top of the bleachers staring at each other. Her dark hair mirrored the direction of the wind, the setting sun being replaced by the brightness of her smile. We were sitting so close I could feel her warmth. It was an unusual situation. Friends don't do this. We held eye contact for a long time before I couldn't take it anymore and just closed my eyes. It wasn't real, she was just my friend. Then, I felt her tuck a strand of my curly hair behind my ear. That with the chill of the night sent shivers down my spine and a swarm of butterflies attacked my stomach. I reopened my eyes. If she didn't want me, why did she look at me that way? I held her hand and I held it for so long because I didn't know if we'd have another moment like this. We talk and laugh and she tells me I'm pretty and I ask her if she'd just noticed that and we laugh again. I realize the feelings I felt in that moment were not just the intense feelings of attraction that I felt every time I was with her. Warmth flooded to my face and if it wasn't for my dark complexion, my blush would be noticeable. I look into her dark-colored eyes and I come to the conclusion that I'm royally fucked and I'm probably also in love.

Ocean Goldreich is the sister I never had. Or at least, her brothers put that thing in my mind. I tried my best to look at her as my very own sister and it worked... for at least these whole year, until I met her again in Finland and somehow she looked even more perfect than I remember. And finally after all these years I gave in to my lust toward her. We crossed the lines with the promise that we will be back as brother and sister again afterward. Can I do that? The answer is bullshit. How can I look at her as my sister when all I can remember from her is our nights together. But she was so adamant to keep our relationship as best friends slash sister brother. Seriously, Ocean? Drew Roderick, I had a crush on him in all my teenage life. But he broke my heart again and again when he just looked at me as his little sister. And now, when I was over him (or I think I was), he came back to me and acted sweetly intimate romantic and whatever is far from the brotherly attitude. I tried to push him away, but I couldn't because the truth is I want him more than just a brother. Can we cross the line? The line that my brothers put is so thick between us. But, suddenly things in our life changed. Now I'm a mother of a little baby, Charlene. We have Charlene now. I can't let my lust override my brain. I have Char in stake. But why did Drew act like we are really a happy family? We are far from family. Just co-parenting a baby, right? Words {[150.000-200.000]}

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out.
