Mackenzie {Optimus Prime's adoptive human daughter} just discovered that her true mother is alive and in Alexandria. She is terrified of her mother because she is the one who abused her all her life and the one who abandoned her. 

                  Optimus doesn't want Mackenzie near her mother Kelsie. He doesn't trust Kelsie and she tells the Prime he has no right in saying what is right for her daughter and he snaps. He says some very cold things and shows his true colors.

Shane's father left them right after Alice was born, not because he was a bad person, but because he wanted to protect them. Alice inherited her father's endothermic and exothermic powers, so she is able to manipulate heat, but Shane did not. When Alice joined the Autobot group to protect her older brother, she becomes a valuable friend to Optimus Prime and a dangerous and powerful enemy to the government and Decepticon forces.
