Martin, a former low-ranking police officer, finds himself in a position of authority and luxury after being offered a job as a servant manager in a grand mansion. He faces challenges from jealous senior servants but handles them with diplomacy. Mark, one of the men who brought Martin to the mansion, insists that Martin takes his place on a ship trip as a token of gratitude.
