"Are you always this insufferable?" Jasmine spat her sharpened gaze on the willowy stature before her. "Well, it is only Tuesday, I suppose I will have an answer for you by week's end." *** The year is 1815, and Jasmine Pope is to find a husband. It is important to note that she does NOT want one. As the eldest of four, she has a duty to her family and her father, to marry an honorable, wealthy gentleman of high rank. It's what her mother did, and her mother before her. Because that is what she is supposed to do. For the good of the Pope name. But what about what Jasmine wants? Kent Washington is a lot of things. An honorable, wealthy gentleman of high rank? To put it simply...no. Especially not with a paperboy's salary. But that doesn't mean he can't look the part. With no family, no title, and barely any income, he is the complete opposite of anything a common lady in society would be looking for. The charade is born. But Jasmine is no common lady, and both are in for one rather bumpy carriage ride.
