Mafuyu is an artist a part of the online band, 25-ji, Nightcord de., also known as Nightcord at 25:00. The problem? Mafuyu doesn't let anyone know about it. All they see? The perfect girl, topper of her class, smart, sweet, talented and kind. But deep down lies scars that haunt her from her past, and continue to tease her relentlessly. Her mother is ever so strict on her, and in order to keep the peace, Mafuyu carries the burden of keeping anything and everything far from perfect away from her. But one day, Mafuyu's mother took away her stuff to make music. What will she do now? Using the power of friendship, she finds the courage to fly, one step at a time.

Note** I don't own any of the characters, and the plot is loosely based off the game. Enjoy!

In the Given series we get to know Mafuyu Sato's tragic past with his childhood friend/lover. This is just my own original character fanfic about a girl that was also his childhood friend. It's a short one shot about love, betrayal and pain. There are triggers about sexual abuse, physical abuse and suicide. Mika Ito is the original character. A young girl who is abused by her father, she meets the boys the same day they meet (ya know what I mean). Her feelings grow for Mafuyu more than friendship and she confesses to him. What he decides to do changes the course of their lives. (I posted this story before but it was in an embarrassing bullet-point format. I'll still leave it up because I'm lazy. But I really wanted to write it properly. I want to add more on to this, like more detail, but again I'm lazy. For now, please enjoy my crappy writing). The story takes place around five years after the third years in game graduated and follows Kanade after N25's split up to pursue different paths in the future. While everyone continues to pursue their dreams together and laugh along side one another, Kanade finds herself alone. While dealing with her complicated feelings she gets an big assignment at her composing job. Note: This is my first ever fic and it took me several months to get the concept. It's a Nightcord at 25:00/ Kanade centric fic with appearances from the other units. I had an idea for an epilogue and I wanted to explore what could happen to them in the future. Hint: everything goes full circle. I'm going off my interpretations of the characters after reading Nightcord at 25:00, WonderlandxShowtime, and Leo/Need's story, so apologies if I missed anything. I am currently going through More More Jump's story right now. Btw my favorite characters are Kanade, Mafuyu, Ichika, and Honami so I really wanted to get them right. Just consider this a future AU since it's my version loosely based on the actual story. As for the virtual singers. I did not address where they went but let's just say, in between the time skip the Sekai's suddenly stopped working for an unknown reason. Miku and the others deemed each one of the units ready to head out into the world to do what they did for them, help people find their true feelings through music.

Once she's there she can't find him anywhere. She does find, however, her old elementary-middle school friends. Once she finds out about the volleyball club she remembers how much Kageyama loved volleyball and notices that there's an opportunity to join by becoming the assistant manager for when the 3rd year, Kiyoko Shimizu, graduates.
