The Council has just begun. The seven Intelligent Species - elves, dwarves, goblins, gnomes, ogres, trolls, and humans - are having a summit, discussing treaty negotiations when the human leader makes a slip. He reveals the existence of a power source - one that helped him, Sargon of Akkad, create his empire.
Councillor Audrey - the third of the founding members of the Elvin Council - wants to know what this mysterious "power source" is. And her investigation may lead to a secret so powerful and potentially mutinous that they have to wipe it from their minds to keep anyone from discovering it. For everyone's good . . . right?
