The morning of June 27th was clear and sunny, with the fresh warmth of a full-summer day; the flowers were blossoming profusely and the grass was richly green. The people of the village began to gather in the square, between the post office and the bank, around ten o’clock; in some towns there were so many people that the lottery took two days and had to be started on June 20th, but in this village, where there were only about three hundred people, the whole lottery took less than two hours, so it could begin at ten o’clock in the morning and still be through in time to allow the villagers to get home for noon dinner.

Berwald Oxenstierna and the Road Trip From Hell
It was a normal day. But, since that's a cliche line often used before stating that the day was, in fact, not normal in the slightest, it quite obviously wasn't a normal day. So lets start again, this time without suggesting anything strange is going to happen. There's not much worse than being proven wrong, and the sentence 'It was a normal day' was asking for something unusual to happen. Fortunately, the sentence in question was not one you'd often see outside of being the start of bad fanfiction, so it was highly unlikely that a sensible man like Berwald Oxenstierna would ever say it, and since this story focuses on him, there is no point on starting with that dreaded sentence. "It was a normal day." Said Alfred F Jones, a bored american on a completely different continent to the unfortunate Berwald. "Well what did you expect?" Asked the american's twin, the equally bored but much more sensible Matthew Williams. He received a glare in response, and there the two sat for the rest of the day while nothing happened. At the exact moment Alfred said the cursed words, on a completely different continent, a Danish man with enough hair gel in his hair to keep an Italian from running away climbed into Berwald's car and ordered him to drive.Complete
Nanny Dearest
Started- September 2019 Competed - October 2022 Oh I didn't know it would be this big. Looking out the window from the uber I that stop at the gate with a few guards standing in front of it. I got out the car thanking the driver and getting on my phone making sure I gave the nice old man a five star he was really friendly, by the way. Putting my phone in my pocket while I held my resume tight I walk up towards the two man that stood by the gate. One on the left move up meeting me holding his hand out, I gave him my paper assuming he's looking over it since he held the paper in his eye view. He looks at the other man who was on the right and nodded his head, his partner put some type of pin which cause the gates to open. My resume was gladly handed back to me as the man who held it started walking in and motion me to follow. Looking around I watch some of the gardeners tending to the front yard some maids was around picking flowers as well. A small smile crossed my lips as I continue to scan the seancery, this place seems perfect to work in very peaceful and pretty who knew a CEO of a company would have such a pretty place to stay in you would think he would be a female.Complete

As if mesmerized, I followed the wet trail, looking away when it reached past his washboard abs. My mouth going through drought. At this point, I'll catch his fever. I stepped back, feeling hot. "Take a nap first. I'll cook some soup. Your temperature?" I asked. Mr. Lawson glanced at the beeping thermometer, then turned it off, "40°C." "40?!" I asked incredulous. "I'm that hot." He turned his back to me and went to bed, going under his thick duvet of grey and black. *** Managing a family business, floundering in secret debts, and studying for a degree had been the main course of Sinclair's life since that fateful tragedy. I hated waiting. It was especially challenging standing carefully to make sure I didn't break my heel before the appointed time. Ugh setting up a meet cute like this seemed so stupid. If all I had to do was seduce the mark, why did we have to go through all this extra effort? But the powers that be said our mark had a real romantic streak and was currently heartbroken over his highschool sweetheart cheating on him with a new business contact, before both skipped the country, seemingly to elope. I watched the crowd walking past me as I stood in the shade of a closed store alcove, the walls giving me something lean against making sure I didn't step on the unstable heel accidentally. Stupid Americans, everyone looked like they were in such a hurry to go buy more things they didn't need. Hair and makeup took two hours yesterday and just as long today. I did not want to have to sit through that again. Plus being stuck in a third girly demure dress for another day might be enough to finally kill me. It might not have all been so bad if I could have chatted with someone while my hair was pulled and burned and styled, and creams and potions layered on my face and eyes. But all of the salon girls were owned by the powers that be, and none spoke any of the languages I could. I suspected that it wasn't an accident. I felt my phone vibrate with an alarm. Show time. I started walking down the sidewalk. It would have been a beautiful day for a walk if I wasn't so focused on my mission, and trying to only walk on my toes with my right foot. The town car pulled up to the curb just ahead of me, coming to a stop in front of the quaint little shop. The timing was working out perfectly. Just a couple more steps. I watched as the rear door of the passenger side opened, I moved to step around the now open car door just as a set of long legs in navy slacks swung out from the car. 3...2...1...Complete
