S.H.I.E.L.D. turning out to have an infestation problem and happily - or not so happily - crashing from that wasn't something Tony had factored in when planning for the "something big" that was inevitably coming.

He had no idea what Rogers had been thinking, or Romanoff.

Especially Romanoff. For all she claimed to be the best spy, that was some real naïve work from her last week.
