She was born with special mutan blood. Mutants are humans with special mixed animal features. She got this blood from her parents who were also mutant. Being a mutant is super rare that's why they had to hide from other people and live an underground life Because of being a mutant she can also turn into that animal for a certain time.
Her parents were S.H.I.E.L.D agents who died by an explosion during a very important mission. She was taken care of by a few S.H.I.E.L.D members but when she got old enough, eventually wanted to live alone and wanted to take care or herself. She always wanted to save life. Like she thought her parents did. She was always a fan of those crazy fights, she saw in movies so she taught herself fighting skills and martial arts.
