People lose hope some time during hard times and Ashwatthama was no exception, he knew very well that that a person should never lose himself during the hard times but still he did. He was truly broken and during this time Love is nothing to him..... 

Some people do believe that there is a special person made for everyone in this world and everybody deserves to love and to be loved, just like Shivani.

ShivaShakti, the eternal lovers. Curse of separation was never enough to break their Longingness for each other. They would reunites again but in Dwaperyuga as Shivani and Ashwatthama. And again their love will incomparable.
