Eron Smauldings, born into a destitute working-class family in the fantastical city of "Ineven," has known only a modest life in the quiet steampunk-style town of Adoris. However, chaos now engulfs even the once peaceful Ineven as the Unions of Workers and Soldiers (UWSers) rise against the weak and corrupt President-King-Lord, Dubin Duprenne, in the country of Frei'Koi'. Fearing conscription into the army, Eron and his loyal friend, Oaker Dennisen, are compelled to leave the city.

Their journey takes them from Ineven to Kassock and Kasserkeltch, where fate deals them a sinister hand. They find themselves unexpectedly framed as the suspected killers of a prominent political family, entangling them in a treacherous web of betrayal, backstabbing, and a second murder. Power struggles abound, forcing Eron and Oaker to confront their inner demons, as their very friendship and bond are tested.

Life can be an adventure if you don't narrow it with a bigotry that forces you to be rooted in your trenches and behind your dividing walls. This doesn't mean you have to accept others' views without standing your ground. However, to be able to share our lives in this one and only world we need to make compromises, on both sides. From the end of episode 1 on, the story really picks up, finally reaching its climax at the end of episode 3 with quite a surprising finish.
