It's been around twenty years since the last incident in Gensokyo occured. Marisa Kirisame decided to settle while her best friend, Reimu Hakurei, still worked at her shrine.

Three years have went by since Marisa came down with a fatal illness, and Reimu, who's surprisingly still in her teenage years, decides to visit her best friend one last time.

Marisa gives Reimu one last task that she must not mess up.
