He father left when she was born and she was raised by her single mother. Her mother was absent most of the time, causing Claire to be her own parent and having to grow up very quickly. After her mother overdosed when Claire was 13, she was put into foster care. After countless awful homes with verbally and physically abusive parents and siblings, she was put into the care of Amelia Shepherd, world renowned Neurosurgeon.
