It's many years into the future, too many to accurately keep track of. Humanity has evolved and devolved, making the New Agers, members of a uto-totalitarian world governed only by the sacred law of Codex Vitae.

The world is one. All are taken care of and provided for. All work hard for the progression of the planet. Gone are race, creed and country. There is only Major 3 and New Agers. The world is perfect.

Or so Amari is taught.

Years of suppressed curiosity and an insatiable desire for more cause her to question the system and wonder how and why it was created and the answers reveal a monster lurking beneath the façade of a perfect society.

Now she is faced with a question.
And a choice.

What is true power?
And is she willing to sacrifice everything for it.

Mirai, the Witch of Sight by High_Priestess_Elena
101 parts Complete Mature
Mirai comes from a long line of witches who have been particularly gifted in using their inner sight. As such, she's trained her sight from a young age. She's always been a disappointment, however, as the only thing she's ever been able to see is the vague image of a girl. On her 18th birthday, Mirai discovers a mark on the back of her neck displaying the number thirty. From her first proper vision, she deduces that unless she finds the girl before the number reaches zero, both of them will die. Only being able to depend on her less than mediocre skills in seeing the future, Mirai sets out to find the girl before the time is up. Little does she know of the trauma the girl has suffered, nor that finding her is only the beginning. ---------- Mature rating due to: smut, violence, suicide (happens in the prologue while POV-character has her back turned), rape (happens in chapter 30 and will be mentions of it afterwards, fade to black, there will NOT be a trigger warning at the beginning of the specific chapter), violent death of babies, some rather bloody scenes, self-harm, extreme guilt. Note that a major part of this story focus on healing from and learning to live with trauma, so though you could potentially read it but skip some specific parts, if you're not comfortable reading something that deals with the listed topics, then this book won't be for you. ---------- This series will contain the following volumes: Volume 1 - Zoe, the witch of innocence (completed) Volume 2 - Crimson, the witch of night (completed) Volume 3 - Morana, the witch of life (completed) Volume 4 - Mirai, the witch of sight (completed) Volume 5 - Danae, the witch of light (ongoing) Volume 6 - Rheseis, the faerie of love

Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258! Mankind's fate will not be one of simplicity and luxury. Instead it will be an unprecedented experiment of survival played on a communal level. Only those in power will know the truth. Everyone else will be manipulated through a façade of rule and order. Jordan Shepherd has been given the opportunity of a lifetime. This opportunity will allow her to assume a position of leadership within her city. However, the more she learns, the more questions she will have. The city's policy of releasing agitators to the unknown beyond the Wall is a false front. It is nothing more than an opportunity to silence the voices seeking to penetrate the veil of lies. Soon Jordan finds her own voice counted among these and she will be forced to make a decision to stand for truth or bend to lies. Humanity will be led toward division and chaos through influence and control. Jordan's peers, blinded by deception, will desire nothing more than compliance. Freedom in truth is what she will bring them.
