Klaus Mikaelson had found his biological father, Ansel's journal, but he could not bring himself to read it. He was not ready to learn whether his biological father cared for him or not. He was afraid of facing yet another rejection. After 100 years had passed, he finally found the courage to read the journal. While reading it, he learned not only that his father cared for him, but that he had also arranged a marriage for Klaus with a werewolf queen named Andrea Labonair. The strange thing was that Klaus had no memory of ever meeting a woman called 'Andrea,' but his father's journal insisted that not only had he met her, but he had been in love with her.

To make matters more puzzling, Klaus consulted a witch who confirmed that some of his memories had been deliberately erased and altered. The witch tried her best to undo the spell, but her powers were not enough. Klaus sought out many powerful witches, but none of them could break the spell either. Eventually, one powerful witch revealed to him that the spell was deeply connected to his curse.

From that moment on, a burning desire consumed him-to break his curse and uncover the truth about a woman named Andrea.
