These dreadful words tore through our brains like a comet striking the earth. That ominous incantation could be heard from across the battlefield. A flash of purple light and suddenly, above the figure of which the words originated, hovered a black sphere of antimatter the size of a cruise ship. The figure moved his hand towards us in a single thrust. The sphere jolted into motion, hurtling towards us at Mach 10. As I watched in terror, I held her tighter for one last time. I felt the darkness wrap over us, consume us, and drain us. My grasp slipped as I saw her face for the last time. The darkness came and went just as fast as that final glance I got. I heard her voice begin to call out my name. "Xacc? Xacc? Xacc!! XACC!!!! Don't leave me! XACC!?!"

Death's Awakening
"Kill..." the low whispering voice trailed off into my head. I don't think the strange whispering voice came from anyone in the room. It was too loud; too abnormel; too deadly.
