"Alright, just take it easy," he said, resting a hand on her thigh without a second thought, a reassuring touch meant to ground her. But for Vanity, the warmth of his hand on her leg was electric. Her eyes were drawn to it, her mind racing with thoughts she couldn't stop, thoughts she didn't dare say aloud. He must have noticed her staring, because he smirked, glancing at her. "What?
