„The sunset is beautiful, isn't it?", she asked, the sound of her voice strained, as if she hadn't been talking for a long time.
The boy sat next to her, staring forward into the leaving sun. He didn't even look at the young woman when she spoke. Yet still he could feel himself, only a small part of himself, longing to hear more of her voice.
It used to calm him down, singing soft lullabies whenever nightmares haunted him, or telling stories to him and his brother.

It was the only comfort he could rely on.

And he ended it before it could poison him.

Silence filled the vast empty space. Only a single Rowan tree swayed in the non existent wind, its branches reaching down where the two figures sat, sheltering them from any harm that may come their way.

It was time to leave this place again. He couldn't stay here for long.
He hugged his knees tight, unconsciously swaying back and forth as he did so. Maybe, if he hugged himself hard enough, he could stay here and listen to one of her stories again? Just one short story.

His efforts were in vain. He realized that when his hands and feet started to disappear, just like they have done thousands of times before.
There was no way things could continue the way they were now. He knew he had to stop, but a selfish part of him was still holding onto that hope that everything would be okay once he opened his eyes.

„Auntie,", he said, preparing his next words.

   „I... really prefer sunrises."

*His eyes were the first thing I noticed as he looked up at me. Such a dark blue they reminded me of sapphires. My heart jumped at the feel of them as he held my gaze. I was in a trance unable to look away and it was as if he could see into the very soul that gave my body life. My skin crawled with goosebumps as his eyes changed from curious to predatory in a matter of moments. A shudder passing through me as my heart beat faster. He could see me. Like really see me and I cringed at the gut wrenching fear that ran through me, watching as his tongue ran smoothly over his lips. He looked like a predator about to hunt his prey. Me being that prey. His grin was intimidating as he spoke to the boy next to him and began to come my way.* Lacey Yasmine just moved to the small town of Moonlight Creek with her aunt seeking new lives in a place where they could start over. For one, her emotions were out of control. She never got a peace of mind being left alone with herself. She was either blaming herself for actions, or she was traumatized at night by memories on this... place. The same place she felt more comfortable coming back to. Why did she come back? Why was the Isle her safe place? The same place she was punished on consistently for breathing incorrectly if her mother viewed it as so. But even still... it was her pain and her happiness. She felt more trapped and boxed on in Auradon than on the Isle. Was this a bad thing? Did she cause herself to feel that way? Was it Ben? Ben. The thought of him made her put the list against her chest. She felt terrible for leaving him.. but they were in a tough place. He wasn't listening; he wasn't hearing. She was impatient; her expectations.. could they be considered high? Should she focus more on working on her relationship than herself? No, in order to fix the relationship she'd have to fix herself. But she's a part of the relationship... Barely being here fifteen minutes and already struggling within her emotions, Mal began growing an headaches. The headache told her it was time to rest someplace quiet, to ride out the storm within her brain, for in time pain does ebb. [THIS BOOK CONTAINS MATURE THEMES WHICH IS ACCEPTABLE FOR 18+ READERS ONLY] "Yes?" His deep voice growls. It's so deep, so velvety. I can feel myself getting aroused. Aroused in ways I've never felt before. "I was told to come and speak to you about my keys." My voice is deep but the slight shake to it gives away my nerves. I can only be thankful my voice didn't break. He pauses for a second, his eyes gleaming over my body and if I was naive, I'd believe he was admiring me. But a man like him, so commanding, so powerful, he wouldn't look twice towards me. He digs into his pocket, a small set of keys emerges from them as he dangles them towards me. Why would he have my keys? As my hand moves forward, I brush the soft skin of his fingers and that tingling sensation overwhelms my body once more, but more intense than the last. My eyes shoot to meet his and I'm almost certain the smallest moan left my lips. It was small, so under my breath, I would bet my life nobody heard, but his eyes, god those eyes, they were devious, like he was trying to tell me he heard. I wanted to flush with embarrassment, how could such small contact make me act in such a way? "Thanks" I mutter. It felt like my voice was laced with arousal. I felt like I was waving a huge flag that screamed I want you. I turn on my heel, walking towards my bags, I can feel his gaze across my body, it's like I could feel the warmth from it dance across my skin. My heart is throbbing, I can feel myself pressing against my joggers and I know if anyone was to look they would see just how aroused Alpha Slater made me feel. "Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?

"This is a nightmare, it's only a nightmare..." I say to myself as I try to catch my breath while leaning against a tall pine tree. Only for a moment do I stay in that position until I hear a twig snap. I quickly leap away from the tree and run as fast as I can. "Wake up (Y/N)! just wake up!!!" I think to myself. "You are awake my dear..." I hear that voice. That damn voice. "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!" I scream. I continue to run past trees and hopping over large rocks. The mist in the air begins to get thicker as I continue this race. "Why me? out of all the people this had to happen to me!" my brain races with thoughts until my foot gets caught by a tree root sticking out of the ground. I fall hitting my head on a rock. My vision is blurry and I can feel a warm liquid begin to stream down my face. "My dear (Y/N), look what you have done to yourself. You shouldn't have tried to run away." the voice goes through my head again. I look around and see nothing but trees. "LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" My voice begins to grow sore from the constant running and yelling. The sound of leaves crunching comes from behind me and I whip my head around until my eyes are met with him. "My dear (Y/N), you've made quite the mess of yourself. You know you are not aloud to leave......now you'll have to be punished." The figure says without any facial expression or motion. The figure begins to walk forward towards me. I try to back away until my vision becomes black and all I can hear is static.

I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed. It was now nighttime and I returned to my room which was very dark. The curtains were closed, strange I'm sure it was open this morning... Whatever. I put my bag down and went straight into the shower. I didn't spend a long time inside cause I was very tired and wanted to sleep. It was an exhausting day, I searched for some work, but like usual I failed... I sighted. I went out of the bathroom with only a towel around my waist and started to sit down when someone pushed me into the floor. Shit! Who was that? What did he want? I was very afraid and I had a lot of question passing my mind in this few seconds but didn't want to submit to my aggressor. I groaned and tried to get myself up, but he... Yeah, he was too strong and big to be she... Put his knee on my back and started to tie my hands together with some rope. Was he trying to kidnap or tie me? I froze in fear for a few seconds and stopped moving. I suppose he let his guard down since I stopped struggling, so I took this chance and flipped us over. It was now my turn to be on top and somehow succeeded to untie myself. I was lucky he didn't have time to fully tie me yet, so it was kind of easy. It was dark, so I couldn't see his face, but I still put my hands around his throat and started to strangle him a bit. 'W-Who are you and w-what do y-you want?' I asked trying to hide my fear that I miserably failed. '...' He still didn't respond, I was starting to loose control on myself. His silence was killing me and I started to shake in fear. Then he spoke and caught all my attention: 'You're so cute when you're afraid pet.' I froze, I recognized this voice and my fear turned to be true. All the struggling to escape, to disappear, to forget about him now came back in an instant. I was now trembling constantly losing all control of my body, my hand lets go of the man throat and all I could do was shakily say: 'Dimitri...' THIS IS A BOYXBOY STORY, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!
