In Greek mythology it is said that humans used to roam Gaia with two faces, four arms, four legs but one torso.

They were one, connected in a way no other could connect. Their souls aligned as one and forever roaming the earth together.

Zeus feared their power, their love. He split them up, split them into two people instead of one. He send them back to earth to forever roam for their soulmate, their other half.

The humans were cursed one could say, the chance of finding their other half ever so small. Forever doomed to look at the sky and wonder if your other half is truly out there.

Au where nearly everyone bears a soulmate mark, the first words they shall speak to you etched into your skin from the moment you're born. Always on the arm.

Nearly everyone has one mark, some rare occasions there's two marks.

Only few times has it been recorded that there are three marks on one person.
